Solar System Output Calculator

Postcode 7306

Calculate the average daily kWh hour output in your area, based on a well installed solar system in a suitable position (e.g No overshadowing).

Tasmania has many smaller cities such as Launceston and Devonport as well as larger population centres such as Hobart which receive a decent amount of sunshine . Devonport is close to the Mersey River and has an average population of over 26,000. It has been declared a city in the year 1981 and stood as a settlement area in the process of uniting Torquay and Formby. Both Burnie and Devonport in the north western region of Tasmania are the major centres in the state. The shipping industry is the first of its kind to be started here on the banks of the Mersey River.  The western side of the Mersey River is up for the entire buzz and the core growth and development area.

The majority of Tasmania has mild summers . It is estimated that 1 kW of solar panels can generate around 1300 to 1340 kWh of electricity or an average of 3.6kWh of electricity daily using the LG Solar Calculator. (See the calculator on this page for more details).

Devonport has a number of attractions to suit all ages. Some of these include Home Hill, Mersey Bluff, Devonport Regional Art Gallery, Don Railway, Tasmanian trail,  Simon Martin Whips & Leathercraft, Imaginarium Science Centre or The Tasmanian Arboretum around the city centre.

Mild summers relatively up to 22 degrees in February are followed by cool winters as low as 4 degrees over June – July in Devonport. Devonport has very less instances of frost or snow recordings. July is observed to be the wettest season where as January is drier.

The local LG Authorised Solar dealer for Devonport and the surrounding area is DMS Energy. DMS Energy is a Tasmanian owned and operated company, focusing on the commercial, residential, agricultural and wholesale sectors of the renewable energy, heating, lighting and electrical industry.

DMS Energy offers quality, industry recognised, energy efficiency and energy consumption reduction solutions.

When assembling our range of energy efficiency products, DMS Energy is guided by one key principle: Each and every product is put through its paces in terms of testing and quality. Products are only included if they are absolutely error-free and harmonise perfectly with each other.

The LG solar panel range is one such product.

DMS Energy strives to honestly; ethically and accurately assist Tasmanians to meet their energy efficiency goals

In an industry that is often guided by dollars, DMS Energy takes a step back from the corporate greed and bases our strategy around honest, ethical and accurate advice, with individually tailored solutions for each project.

DMS Energy’s primary aim is to educate and to inform, rather than sell. DMS Energy’s number one goal is to put you in a position where you just aren’t buying any power.

In short, DMS Energy is here to make a difference for the long term benefits of all Tasmanians and their children.

As of mid 2013, we have moved into our new workshop at 56 Sheffield Road, Spreyton. We have extended our range of products to include LG panels, solar hot water, energy efficient heating, and LG LED lighting to name a few.

The DMS Energy portfolio is one of quality.  With the emergence of mass produced, profit geared energy efficiency solutions, we have steered clear of the ‘quick buck’ mentality of the ‘race to the bottom’ volume sales companies.

DMS Energy offer quality brands, quality service and quality workmanship. DMS Energy utilise worldwide, diversified brands such as LG, Robert Bosch Group, Toshiba, Etherma and Krannich Solar. Feel free to visit us at the DMS Energy website.

  • Please have a look at your average annual consumption number in kWh which you wrote down from the previous page. Increase the system size in the calculator above to see how big your system would need to be to create an annual amount of kWh solar energy similar to or bigger to the amount of kWh you consume. Write down how big your solar system would need to be in kW.

Disclaimer: These output calculations use sunlight data supplied by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology from most Australian weather stations from 1990 to now – as an average. The output calculations are estimates only. The calculations allow for a 14% loss of the sunlight for inverter and cable loss, slight dust on the panels and for the fact that panels will not always be pointing True North. If panels point straight West or East, are tilted to low or to high, a further reduction in output of up to 15% can occur. For site specific rather than general solar system outputs please request a site inspection and discuss the matter with your LG solar dealer.

Please note these calculators are a guide only and please verify the information obtained through these calculators independently. In compiling these calculators LG Electronics Australia (LG) has utilised available data from the Clean Energy Council and the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. LG has used its best endeavours to ensure that the supplied calculations and information are correct, but LG takes no responsibility for any error or defect therein. LG shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from the use or reliance of any data supplied by these calculators.
