Calculate the average daily kWh hour output in your area, based on a well installed solar system in a suitable position (e.g No overshadowing).

Melbourne city is situated all along the Yarra River and is the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The stately ancient buildings and the sparkling modern development on the rise go hand in hand with an estimated population of 4.4 million. In a recent survey, Melbourne has for the fifth time won the name of being the world’s most liveable city.

The solar output for Melbourne is reasonably good in the area because of its location and weather conditions. It is estimated that 1kW of solar panels can generate up to 1321kWh of electricity annually and on average 3.62kWh of electricity per day (see the calculator on this page for more details).

Local attractions include Yarra Valley, Queen Victoria Market, City Centre, Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Dandenong Ranges, National Sports Museum, the Immigration Museum, Healsville Sanctuary and St Kilda Beach.

Melbourne experiences fairly hot summer days and quite low temperatures in winter. The mercury can rise up to 45 degrees in the months of January – February while temperatures as low as minus 2 degrees can be recorded in the months of June and July. Highest rainfall is witnessed in October while January being relatively dry.

Not just another solar company…Looking for a company that knows you by name?

Total Solar Solutions was established by A-Grade electrician Reece Kennedy when he experienced the great divide between solar sales companies and installers. Wanting to bring a higher level of customer service, Reece had a vision to create a solar company with a full inhouse team of sales consultants, office support and electrician installers. Not to be the biggest solar company but a company with the highest attention to detail and immaculate installations using only the best quality products available.

As a Clean Energy Council approved solar retailer, and a Platinum authorised installation partner for LG, we are proud to install not only the very best LG solar panels, but also quality inverter brands such as Fronius, SolarEdge and Enphase. We are proud to be 100% Australian owned and operated and a Clean Energy Council approved Retailer since June 2016 so you can rest assured you are in great hands.

What makes us different?

No overseas call centre, no sub-contracted installers and no fixed price packages with hidden costs. We provide only good old fashion Aussie customer service! We provide you with thorough quotes, honest opinions and tradies that arrive when they say they will.

What is the Total Solar Solutions experience?

Meet with one of our highly trained Solar Consultants who will custom design a solar system specifically to your home. Our friendly office staff will then confirm an installation date suitable for you.
On installation day experience our red carpet service. Our electricians will arrive on time, introduce themselves, confirm installation location for the inverter and panels with you then set to work. Once completed they will run through the system with you, set up any monitoring and leave you with an information pack for future reference.
Your solar system will then be signed off by an independent electrical inspector and our office staff will process your paperwork, solar rebate and retailer service order on your behalf. We hope you will be so thrilled with our service that you will recommend us to your friends and family.”

  • Please have a look at your average annual consumption number in kWh which you wrote down from the previous page. Increase the system size in the calculator above to see how big your system would need to be to create an annual amount of kWh solar energy similar to or bigger to the amount of kWh you consume. Write down how big your solar system would need to be in kW.

Disclaimer: These output calculations use sunlight data supplied by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology from most Australian weather stations from 1990 to now – as an average. The output calculations are estimates only. The calculations allow for a 14% loss of the sunlight for inverter and cable loss, slight dust on the panels and for the fact that panels will not always be pointing True North. If panels point straight West or East, are tilted to low or to high, a further reduction in output of up to 15% can occur. For site specific rather than general solar system outputs please request a site inspection and discuss the matter with your LG solar dealer.

Please note these calculators are a guide only and please verify the information obtained through these calculators independently. In compiling these calculators LG Electronics Australia (LG) has utilised available data from the Clean Energy Council and the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. LG has used its best endeavours to ensure that the supplied calculations and information are correct, but LG takes no responsibility for any error or defect therein. LG shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from the use or reliance of any data supplied by these calculators.
