The Northern Tablelands is a plateau and the highest highland area in Australia and a region in the Great Dividing Range located in northern NSW covering an area of 18,197 square km. The region is also known as the New England Tableland as it includes the New England Range. The area is home to a number of rainforests and waterfalls. Three of the National Parks in this region have been listed as World Heritage Areas by UNESCO.

As the region is elevated high above the sea levels the summers are usually cool but with clear skies. The place is a home to many different species of flora and fauna. The output calculations are estimates only. The calculations allow for a 14% loss of the sunlight for inverter and cable loss, slight dust on the panels and for the fact that panels will not always be pointing True North. If panels point straight West or East, are tilted to low or to high, a further reduction in output of up to 15% can occur.
