While the customer care centre staff are not solar experts, they can log your issue and give out solar expert contact numbers.
This means, that whoever as Install Company installed the LG solar products, we as the manufacturer will be there to support you the client and our solar panel product.
Our solar modules are made with slim and durable glass to be light in weight while also being able to withstand heavy loads up to 5400 Pa, which represents premium quality. The LG solar manufacturing plant in Gumi, South Korea also contains state-of-the art testing laboratories. These facilities test our daily solar panel output for product quality, product consistency and performance. Our solar testing laboratories have been certified as high quality photovoltaic testing facilities by two world leading certifying authorities, TÜV Rheinland (Germany) and Underwriters Laboratories (USA). This dual certification for LG solar was a first for the solar industry.

LG’s focus on quality control sits at the heart of our manufacturing philosophy. This quality-first philosophy has been developed through decades of creating ever improving top class electronic equipment. A solar production cluster has been organised within the LG Group, using the same quality control processes for solar as for our LED TVs, washing machines and fridges.
LG’s own solar panel quality testing methodology has been developed in-house and is applied rigorously to our panels. It means every component from PV cells to glass and framing undergoes individual performance testing and separate quality control. If the quality of any component does not meet our industry leading standards, then it will not be used.
Our testing regime in our TUV and UL certified research laboratory is more rigorous than industry standard, ensuring long life products in the solar arena.
LG is the only solar company in the world which have over 200 patents in the US and Europe on the design, development, manufacturing and testing of its solar panels. This number of patents is by far, the most any one solar panel manufacturer company in the world has taken out.
LG undertakes a rigorous Life Cycle Assessment from raw materials to end of use. This process helps us to choose the input materials with relatively low environmental impact, when making our solar panels. The LG Solar module frame can withstand extreme stresses and strains, as a “trampling test” demonstrates. This is partly explained by the fact that the lateral supports, are screwed and not just connected.
Water is also an enemy of the solar module. Long-term damage can be the caused by condensation water pooling in the frame. Our modules ensure the effective drainage of condensation water regardless of whether they are installed in portrait or landscape.
Unique Frame Design:
LG’s high level design expertise is reflected in the unique frame design of the modules, which not only look stylish but are also extremely reliable. The frame can be mounted on all four sides, allowing for a better use of space. For correct installation consult the LG panel installation manual.
Heavy Snow Frame Test:
All LG modules withstand a pressure load of 5,400 Pa and therefore can resist heavy loads. They are also suitable for high altitudes and areas of heavy snowfall.
LG modules have also been tested against strong winds and can withstand strong vortex loads. This makes the modules well-suited for windy areas.
Individual High Quality Materials:
LG only uses high-quality materials produced by first-class manufacturers. All these components are subject to continuous quality checks, because a solar module is only as good as the quality of its component parts.
As LG operates its own production of solar cells - and does not purchase them externally, unlike many other manufacturers - complete control over the quality of the products is guaranteed, particularly with regard to these critical module components.

In order to eliminate premature material fatigue, our products are regularly tested for their weather resistance in wet and cold conditions and under extreme changing temperatures.
Mechanical Load Test:
Solar modules need to be able to demonstrate considerable resistance: Sophisticated mechanical load tests monitor whether our modules can resist adverse conditions such as wind, snow and ice.
A hailstorm is a destructive force that solar modules need to withstand at all costs. In our hail test, hailstones made of ice are fired at the modules and a check is then performed for full functionality.
Module Breakage Test:
Stone chips, in particular, are a “natural enemy” of the solar module. Our module breakage test examines the modules for their resistance against stones and other objects that can hit the surface.
Individual Materials Test:
To ensure that the solar modules function properly in terms of their component interaction, individual parts such as wafers, ethylene vinyl acetate film (EVA), glass and backing film are subjected to stringent tests.
Maximum Output Test:
After undergoing various “environmental impact tests”, the module is subjected to a maximum output test. The test is only passed if the maximum output is reached consistently.
