Porsche Australia Case Study
Sustainability is an integral part of Porsche's future strategy, and the Taycan is the first, but certainly not the last, Porsche to be produced completely CO2 neutral. Taycan signifies a new era for Porsche, and thanks to our new cutting edge production methods, Porsche is setting new benchmarks in terms of sustainability, as well as innovation. Porsche Cars Australia needs to play our part and take responsibility for a sustainable future. There are many ways in which we can do this.
For example, one way is to reduce our future dependence on the electricity grid as more of our product range becomes electrified. By installing a 200 kilowatt LG solar panel system consisting of 494 LG solar panels, covering over a thousand square meters, as we've done here at our offices in Collingwood, we anticipate that over a quarter of our future energy consumption will be from solar power. The decision to install solar panels at Porsche's Australian headquarters, which also takes into account our Porsche Centre Melbourne retail facility, will contribute to reduced ongoing operational expenses in the form of lower electricity consumption off the grid. And, importantly, ties perfectly into our strategy to become the most sustainable premium sports car manufacturer.
