What is the deal with free interest on solar power systems?
There are some solar companies which offer you to buy the system and give you free interest all upfront, is a bit of a trick. Because what happens is the $600, $800, or even $1,000 dollars of interest is actually loaded up onto the price of the system in the first place. So funny enough, there's suddenly a cash price, and that there is the interest free price.
And when you look at it, it actually is not interest free anymore. But if it is interest free, then all the regulatory rules from the financial network to protect you, are not applicable. So the interest free lets people actually get around the system that actually protects you. I don't believe personally in interest free because, quite frankly, you should be declaring what the interest will be. There's no such thing as a free lunch.
